What to Expect in the RAID Try Dive - Pool & Sea
The RAID Try Dive - Pool & Sea begins with a half-day pool session, where participants learn the basics of scuba diving in a comfortable, controlled environment. The experience starts with a pre-dive briefing, during which instructors introduce you to scuba equipment, including the mask, snorkel, regulator, and buoyancy control device (BCD). Each piece of equipment is carefully explained, allowing participants to understand its purpose and function. After the briefing, you’ll have the chance to try on the equipment, becoming familiar with the fit and feel before entering the water.
In the pool, instructors guide you through foundational skills such as breathing underwater, buoyancy control, and simple underwater movement. The shallow water offers a relaxed setting to practice and build confidence, with no pressure to rush or perform. This pool session is designed to help you become comfortable with the sensation of breathing underwater, allowing you to focus on each new skill in a controlled, safe space.
After mastering the basics in the pool, it’s time to move to the open sea for the second part of the RAID Try Dive - Pool & Sea experience. Conducted in shallow, calm ocean areas, this session lets you practice what you’ve learned in a real marine environment. With an instructor by your side, you’ll get to explore the ocean, adjusting to the sights, sounds, and sensations of open-water diving. The transition from pool to sea creates a smooth learning experience, gradually building confidence and skill.
Safety-Focused Training
Safety is the top priority in the RAID Try Dive - Pool & Sea course. Aqua Ventura Divers’ instructors are RAID-certified professionals with experience in working with beginners, and they follow RAID’s rigorous safety standards at every step. With a low student-to-instructor ratio, participants receive personalized attention, making sure they feel supported throughout both the pool and sea sessions.
The pool session provides a controlled environment where you can learn each skill at your own pace, while the sea session introduces you to real-world conditions in a supervised, shallow area with minimal currents. This two-part approach ensures you are well-prepared, comfortable, and confident when experiencing open-water diving.
