Experience Scuba Diving

The RAID Junior Scuba Diver program is tailored for individuals aged 12-14 who have limited time and cannot commit to the full Junior Open Water 20 course. It is an abbreviated version based on the RAID Junior Open Water 20 course, offering essential scuba diving knowledge and a comprehensive underwater experience.

Prerequisites

• Swim comfortably and perform the skills below
• Age: Junior SCUBA Diver – 12 to 14 years old
• Be prepared to learn and have a bunch of fun

Course Content

• Online e-learning or mobile APP academic presentations, quizzes, exam.
• Complete the skill requirements as specified by the specific training manual.

Before any Open Water diving the student shall effectively show proof of, or demonstrate, to a scuba instructor:

• A ten-minute survival swim/float without the use of mask, fins, snorkel, or other swimming aids.
• Distance swimming capability by one of the two following methods:
• Swim 200 meters without the use of mask, fins, snorkel, or other swimming aids.
• OR
• Swim 300 meters using mask, fins and snorkel without other swimming aids.

If conditions warrant students may wear a diving suit provided they are weighted for neutral buoyancy.

Complete course over a minimum of two days and totaling a minimum of:

• 1 hour logged underwater in Open Water.
• 2 Open Water dives.

Depth Limitation: 12 metres / 40 feet

Upon completion of the RAID Junior Scuba Diver program, you will receive an electronic certification card indicating your completion of the course. This will allow you to dive to a maximum depth of 12 meters / 40 feet with a dive professional across many parts of the world. The Scuba Diver certification is also a recognition of learning and allows you to fast track your RAID Junior Open Water 20 course at a later date by not having to repeat any skills that overlap with the two programs.

 Training is divided into two sections. Academic or Theoretical, which is provided for in the course manuals / materials provided online.

Skills typically include mask clearing, regulator retrieval, buoyancy control, and more.
6. Open Water Dives: Participants will have the opportunity to apply their newfound skills and knowledge during open water dives. These dives often take place in beautiful natural settings, such as coral reefs or underwater landscapes, and provide young divers with a real-world scuba experience.
7. Environmental Awareness: The program emphasizes the importance of environmental conservation and responsible diving practices. Participants will learn about marine ecosystems, the role of divers in protecting them, and how to minimize their impact on the underwater environment.
