Aqua Ventura Diving PADI Open Water Course

RAID Open Water 20

  • Duration 4 Days
  • Min Age : 15+

With over 70% of our magnificent planet covered in water, the ultimate passport you need is the RAID Open Water Diver certification. Our oceans and waterways invite you to explore a spectrum of experiences, from tranquil and serene dives to exhilarating and adrenaline-pumping adventures.

While not everyone has the opportunity to discover the wonders of the underwater world, scuba diving is a sport that the entire family, including kids as young as 10, can enjoy together. The Open Water 20 diver program might mark your first step into the enchanting realm of scuba diving, promising you the adventure of a lifetime.

How Do I Get My Certification?

To earn your Open Water 20 Diver certification, you need to read the manuals for each section and complete the quizzes. Once you have passed all the quizzes, you can proceed to the exam. It is important to select and contact a RAID Dive Centre and arrange for your practical in-water training. They will arrange your class and in-water sessions and help you with equipment advice or purchases.

The quizzes and exam are “open book”. This means you are required to read the manuals and then if needed, research the manual to find the correct answers.

  • The minimum age for this course is 15 years old.
  • Divers younger than this can participate in the RAID Junior Open Water Diver program.

You will be required to a complete some mandatory paperwork which consists of a dive medical questionnaire, a liability release, and a safe diving practices form. If there are any potential medical issues, you will need to complete a medical form signed by a licensed physician prior to participating in any in-water sessions. Once you have registered with RAID, you can access all the required paperwork online in “Your Profile”.

  • You must be able to swim as you will be required to swim a distance of 200 meters / 200 yards (no time limit) and tread water for 10 minutes.

Core Structure

Together with your instructor you will be guided through the following:

  • A review of all your mandatory paperwork.
  • Academic knowledge vital to this program, including a review of your quizzes and exam.
  • Completion of the swim and tread.
  • You will participate in several pool or confined water sessions and 4 open water dives to a maximum of 18 meters / 60 feet, with a minimum of two hours underwater.

Once certified as an Open Water 20 diver, you will be able to dive in an environment similar or better to that which you were certified in, with a buddy, to a maximum of 20 meters / 65 feet.
